Half of a small, makeshift boat, or "yola," sits abandoned on a remote beach near Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, April 3, 2019.
The Yola are built by smugglers in neighboring Caribbean countries to ferry illegal aliens and drugs into U.S. territory and are left for ruin once a crossing is complete. This boat was cut in half by authorities as a safety measure for locals. U.S. Customs and Border Protection photo by Glenn Fawcett. Original public domain image from Flickr
